way way way way way long ago. i bought a thermaltake tr 550w. lasted me a life time. now i want to hit it and burn. it makes so much noise. its like most noise out of every part of my pc.

anyways, any suggestions?

If you looking for quiet and good psu seasonic either s12 or m12 series will be enough. Corsair 520w and 620w are made by seasonic, they are modular and pretty much are same as seasonic s12 series.

Cross,

I'll vouch for the Corsair HX520, quiet as a church mouse, nice nylon velcro pouch for unused modular cables.

i was looking at the antec phantom and the zalman moldular psu. any good?

No experience here with the Zalman. Have had a couple Antec TPs, both were RMA's. No experience with the Phantom model but I have bashed Antec enough here. Whether the Phantom is made better than the TP models is unknown to me.

Looking at the prices here:

Not much to guess about.

I can't vouch for the newer Antec, but as of a little over a year ago, almost all of them gave me problems with cheap capacitors. Seasonic has United Chemi-Con caps in them and a 120mm fan. It's quiet and reliable. Good luck!

I probably would pass on antec,

Zalman looks like it doing well in tests. Stays quiet too but not as quiet as corsair/seasonic.

Not better enough. CWT used Panasonic caps in the critical areas, but these are still filled with Fuhjyyu in other places. Using Fuhjyuu in a PSU with a slow fan is bad enough... it's inexcuseable in a fanless unit.

i guess i'll be picking out a corsair unit XD. im convinced enough.:santa:

just a question.. would it be enough? im overclocking these days.. plaining to get sli. getting another pair of 1gb ram soon.

one more question would it support the latest graphic cards? im getting a 8800gts 320mb. i wanted the 620w but i dont have enough money... would the 520 be enough and stable?
