Hey guys,

I managed to bag a 512MB stick of Corsair DDR RAM (Part CMX512-3200XLPT) for $30...as I had to part out my other 512MB stick to my second rig so I could get it up and running.

I currently have a 512MB Kingston ValueRAM PC2700 in it...and when I put the new Corsair RAM into the motherboard...it just locks up right before the selection screen to chose which OS to load.

This stick alone runs fine and it boots into windows no problem...But with the other stick in it...locks up. I don't get it.
And other times when together....doesn't boot at all.

Any ideas?

I just put the RAM Divider back to 266MHz...
I just tested the 256MB stick I had (sorry I put 512 up above, I meant 256)

So with the Corsair and the 256MB PNY stick I have, it boots fine.

So it's something with the Kingston 512MB and the Corsair 512MB....

Will test the Kingston again now I reduced the divider.

Ok it booted up with the divider set down.

Why would it not boot before? Seems strange...
Hopefully this isn't a lucky boot or something...will run benchmark now.
