Can I use an Iomega 250MB ATAPI Zip Drive on a PC running Linux Xubuntu? If so do I need drivers and where do I get them. Also, is there any way of furcefully removing a zip disk from a zip drive while it is powered off? Like on a CD/DVD drive you just stick a pin in the small hole on the front panel.

It's highly doubtful there are drivers and even so, it's not worth the hassle. Buy a usb flash drive instead. You can find 1Gb drives for ~$10-15.

I found the the whole computer in a skip at college, so if it won't work I'll just bin the drive. There is a disk in it but Xubuntu isn't seeing it and as it doesn't see the drive I have no way of releasing the disk. I have laptop, is there any way of hooking up the Zip drive to the laptop?
