Will the Fortron Bluestorm 500w be good enough for the following system?

E6300
1GB RAM
2 DVD Drives
2 HDD's
7600GT

It says it only has 15A on the 12+ rail...is that wrong?

the product code is AX500-A

Thanks, ps2cho

I dunno you might be pushing it on 500 watts. Other than that I don't think you should have a problem. 15 amps on both rails seems like it should be sufficient for that set up. It powers my OCed opteron and my OCed 8800GTS just fine.

Ok it will be fine then. If a 400w Antec Purepower can do my D805...The E6300 should be A-Ok :)

Ok my bad :) Its for my friend. I just got him to read off the side of his PSU over ventrilo.

I looked the the Blue storm but that low end 12V rail was not good, you want the reserve.
To be honest, you would be better with the gray FSP

My 4600 sucks power like a vacume so I know your Conro won't touch the 2 18A rails on this one. There's enough extra power to run 4 HDs, 3 Opticals the the 7250. I would consider the this next 600W brute for dual socket procs and SLI 7950s

Scratch that 600w Forton when you can get the Zippy G1 500w for the same price.

The low +12v rail is the only thing that turns me away but I hear they are very nice units. If you already have the Forton just keep it, I think it should be fine. If you are buying new, get a Zippy.

It probably won't work. I've got a 500W Bluestorm powering the system in my sig and I some times I get random restarts. I am overclocked a little bit but I'm not overvolting my CPU that much. You're definately going to need another PSU.

I've heard of them, no find in at the Egg or ZZF. How much can you fetch one for?
Note, The 600W fortron is rated the same as my 450 but with a 3rd 18A 12V.

I wouldn't say that is a PSU issue....You got something else going on...

It will work fine. I've got a similar rig running on a Coolermaster 380w PSU for a friend. PSU requirements are grossly overestimated lately.
