To overclock or not?

Hi there,

I have a 1.53 gigahertz AMD Athlon XP CPU, NVidia-NForce2 MOB, 512 MB of RAM and a 350W PS.
Can you please tell me the benefits of overclocking this CPU? Or if it is even possible? Pros and Cons would be appreciated as well.

P.S. - I have never "overclocked a CPU before, so in regards to this issue I am a "newbie".
