Dual Celeron 1.2

Has intel disabled SMP on these too?

If it is a PIII based Celeron, or Celeron II as people call them...yes, it is not SMP capable.

On the packaging it says "Uni-processor" meaning SMP is supposedly disabled, but rumor is that it works anyway.

People have managed to get it dual booting BUT not all chip will dual boot so Intel won't provide support for this.

I posted this about two weeks ago. It was finally confirmed by TC that you could runthe 1.2gig Celeron in smp mode. He said he had a friend that was using that as a current set up on a SuperMicro Motherboard.

in the cpu tests column, the bottom picture shows all of the
pins in place .
if that picture is correct, then that means that the cel 1200`s
will work in smp mode .
but what i understand about it that the bios will show them
as p3`s
the supermicro mobo as stated uses the via apollo pro
chipset. not sure if it will work with the other compatible
celeron chipsets(should though)
i read an article on intel`s website. they stated that the
celeron 1200 will work on mobo`s that only accept p3`s
cannot find webpage now (i think they realized their
blunder in reporting that news and deleted it)
the powerleap website showed how to hotwire their adapter
to run cel 1100`s to run in smp mode.
