Im thinking of puting a 32bit version of vista on my desktop at home.

Now i have really only one main concern.

My Base set up is:
AMD Athlon 64 3400+
1GB DDR400
ATI Radeon X800GTO

im just wondering if its enough to get the same performance im getting out of XP or if vista is gonna eat up all my resources.

Any answers would be much appreciated thanks.

i would up the memory some more if i was you... i have an older system running a P4... Vista was practically unusable with only 512mb of ram... i went out and bought an additional 1GB and Vista has been running very smooth since...

performance will not be the same as xp i can tell u that much, i havent tried vista with 1gb however i used 512mb for a bit and well lets just say i was only chatting and on the net

2gb i think is a must for vista

I have vista 32 on a XP2600, 1GB DDR333 ram, 9700pro 128mb.

And it runs just fine, cant tell much of a difference from XP other than its prettier

But I did vlite the install, read up on it here
