Antec 900, Tuniq Tower120, and AMD K8 without cutting

Good evening, You can install the Tuniq Tower 120 in the Antec 900 for an AMD K8 setup.

At first it looked like I had to cut the Fan tab off the door but after looking at the large heatsink base I was able to twist the tower slightly counterclock wise and made the room needed to leave the door uncut and still have the processor covered by the base.

Just do not twist it any more then is absolutly needed because I can just see the socket lever on the lower right so everything is still covered. the little tab in the center that the H-plate slides on keeps the base centered.

Enjoy!

Hope this was helpful so someone. I searched and searched and was about to cut the tab off.

Look at ti this way. your never going to fit a fan in there with that cooler, so either the tabs go, or the cooler goes.

You can always find another way to mount the fan if you want to mount one later on.

I didn't want to snap off the Fan tab because this setup will more then likely move into a HomeTheater case in a year or two. Then I would reuse the 900 for a new setup.

I have seen the Core 2 setup with the Tuniq tower and the fan on the door so that would be an option in the future. I like to keep my options open. By the way this case is quiet!

The 900... Quiet?

Not at all. Its one of the loudest cases I've used used, thanks to the hard drive mounting. I lived with it for abotu 2 months before switching to a P180b.

What hard drives are you using? I have two Seagates in my Antec 900 and they are quiet. I guess if you have a loud HD in there it would be annoying. Personally I stick with Seagate because I know they've never bothered me with noise and they've been reliable for me.
