I spent for ever trying to figure out what device this was:
PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_7003&SUBSYS_00401102&REV_03

it was showing up as Unkown device in the device manager and it couldn't find a driver for it. It ended up being creative's Game Port, but to I couldn't get it to install with some error about the INF file being written for win95.

Then I found this

Q: Are MIDI/Gameports supported under Vista?
A: We've removed support for these types of devices, in favor of USB connected devices.

:bang head

Thats crap. I have a force feeback sidewinder joystick that I still use for flight sim that uses a gameport.

i wonder if there is a usb adapter.

has anyone tried one of these adapters? i'm wondering if it will work since it still gives you a gameport and might still need a gameport driver.
