I wanted to see if someone has an opinion on the GA-7VTX w/KT266a Chipset. I was looking into buying a new board and this was an option.... I read Tom's and understand there seems to be problems with dual-bios, bios flasher, and similar bios file names. I like reading Tom's board but I feel it's biased. I'm not sure about overclocking these days.... so I probobly will not make an effort to do so.

Anyone have experience with this board?

I'm planning to run a AMD 1600+Xp
Nanya 512 Mb PC2100 DDR
20 Gigbyte Maxtor ATA-100 5400rpm HD
and a GForce2 or 3 to boot.

Thanks

I think they're good motherboards...although I'd give THG credit for the BIOS problems though cuz I heard the same on amdmb too, I think it was. Gigabyte makes pretty good boards though, as far as I know. Make sure it has an active cooler on the chipset...some of those KT266A boards use the old greenies.
