You would expect ati to be about 1k ahead atleast, I was expecting it to be a monster but the article would make you believe they are just about equal.

If you knew more about the G80's architecture, you'd understand that by design, the R600 is more efficent with D3D_10 and the G80 is damn good at D3D_9, but it will likely be less efficient as it could be because nVidia did not strictly confine to M$'s standard... mainly because the shader architecture not fully unified. If it was, the G80 would be a poorer D3D_9 performer, and it would likely be just as good as the R600, if not tied in terms of efficiency.MadMan007 said:like implying that 8800s aren't made for DX10 while R600 is unless the only g80 info he ever read was pre-prerelease he'd know that isn't true. As for it being 'far more efficient' time will tell.
Yes, yes it is DirectX 10 compliant.MadMan007 said:Every professional review says that the G80 is fully DX10 with a unified shader model.
In D3D_9, the IQ differential between the R600 and G80 is negligible.vixro said:That isn't even going to be a good comparison to the quality of the card in DX10 settings.

/me curses M$ for dropping OGL
