Experts please tell me what this means?

Every time my CPU executes an operation like opening email, or doing anything that requires processing.......I literaly hear my Fan that I have hooked up to my radiator change pitch....

It goes from a constant humming noise (normal) to a higher pitch as soon as my CPU executes any type of processing. ANY!!!!

It's not annoying........and it's barely audible.......but it DOES happen every single time.

I know it's got something to do with my power.......because only a power flux could cause the fan pitch to change.

I realize this may not be in the right place.......but there is no "power" catagory and in some ways, it does deal with the CPU.

What could it mean? Thanks

Might be that you psu is only 250 watts and cant handle the power demand. Try getting a 350 or even a 450watts psu.

Mine did that too whenever I opened something that pulls alot of cpu power,it was especially audible with the radiator fan too since I hear that one the most from tha air being pushed through it.If you have a program to watch your volts you will see your 5v line drop down too.I had a generic 300w psu, putting a better brand in it fixed it.

yes mine does the same thing. i have a 300 wat power supply. my delta isn't even hooked up to the mobo so there's no way that it could no when to speed up and slow down due to processor usage. whenever i execute a program or do something besides idle it will get higher pitched and then go back down. no money for a new PS though...
