i have 98 on the primary dos partition and 2000 on the extended partition.thought i would delete the partition 98 was on as well as the 200 and reformatt as 1 drive again, but the fdisk would not allow mw te delete extended partition,it did however delete both os's.then would not allow me to format at all. had to install 98 and 2000 just like it was.

is there any way to get back to 1 big drive?

If the Windows 2000 was installed on a NTFS partition then you would have to remove a 'NON' DOS partition as well as the DOS partition as NTFS is not seen by DOS.

can you tell me how this is done?

i would like to have just 2000 on the whole disk.98 just isn't worth the trouble.

boot into your 2kcd, go in to setup, use it too delete all existing partitions, then format into your choice(FAT or NTFS) all the disk you want, then instal 2k

or type diskpart in recovery console
and delete the rest of partition.
and format after all
your problem is solved
