Need YOUR HELP building a budget PC

I am going to help out a buddie of mine build a budget PC, he has $1000 max for shipping and everything. He pretty much needs everything except a monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc. I want it aimed towards gaming and not have the performance rely on a good overclock. Any input would be nice. THanks guys you always help me build killer machines!

I'd tell him to wait till the price drops later this month. (April 22) but something along the lines of a E6420, Asus P5B-D, 8800GTS,and 2GB of memory should be do-able.

All you have to do is a little reading here on the forums, then go to your favorite etailer and round up some parts. If you're curious about performance or quality of a certain item, google the part, or use the search (I don't think anyone uses this anymore) button at the top of these forums. You should do a little work and not rely so much on other people. Here I'll help you anyway. Grand total with shipping (to me at least) is $1,031.92. I think he could swing 32 bucks can't he? If not, change out a part or two. C2D 8800 based system for ~1000 dollars. Don't forget to check memory compatibility with the mobo. AND if you don't want to overclock it at all, drop the Scythe and use retail cooling and you're under a 1000 dollars. *edit* swapped out the stupid abit for a gigabyte 965x.

I like the above set up, but I would wait until the intel price drops later this month.
