So I have the Pentium D 805 in my sig and I can trade it straight across for a brand new P4 641 3.2GHz. My question is should I do it? I've heard the 641 overclocks well but I would lose the dual-core. Thoughts?

if you are bored with your cpu i would do it. it would be fun to oc anyways.

i know the 631's are the killer overclockers, the wr is just over 8ghz. 0_o

if you ever wanted a dual core again, it would be an excuse to upgrade to c2d, or whatever is out then, or you could buy a 945 or something on the cheap.

it does depend on what you do with your rig tho...

any specific reason for what? it depending on what you do with your pc?

well, some programs make use of a dual core, some do not. ;)

So I had a chance to "borrow" the P4 and it's actually a 541. I have it running right now at 3.8 and playing CS:S. It seems faster but not a lot. Guess I won't trade it and just order myself a Core 2 Duo.

do you multi task more? i multi task like a mofo and it was nice to have the 2 cores going to keep multiple things fast. now i got 4 and its better. more cores is the way to go.
