super slow file transfers in vista

i searched, found alot about network file copying. but im talking about from HD to HD or extracting zip files. and even copying to an external hd. ITS MAXING OUT AT 500KBS!!!

whats going on? the hotfix is for networking only.

i tried applying the hotfix, didnt help at all.

On my last install, I used to get alot of ccom crashes, or something like that, and Vista would bog right down in a file transfer untill you cleared the crash. Happened mostly with video files. I dont think I have had the error since my last install.

so maybe a reinstall in fix it?
