TV software

Is there a program that does nothing more than display TV via a tuner card on your computer? I mean it sounds simple, but does such a thing exist?

If you buy a component that has an input, it will come with a program that can utilize it. May I ask what kind of hardware you are using?

Well, it's not that I can't find a program to display TV on my computer currently I'm using MCE 2005 in conjunction with my Theater 550 Pro. I was really interested if anyone knew of a program that wasn't a bloated all-in-one media center that would handle the simple task of displaying TV using my Theater 550 Pro (I MIGHT even be willing to sacrifice PVR functionality.)

Ok, I understand your question. I don't know of any, but it can't be that bloated can it?

Theres ton's of free mce alternatives, check out the htpc sticky.

Dscaler will just put a picture on your screen, and has some recoding abilities, if your card is compatible.

Maybe bloated isn't what I'm trying to say but it seems with the media center programs that I have checked out the only thing that they do that well in my opinion is allow me to watch TV (and maybe timeshift/record.)

Yeeah... I probably should have tried that first. Thanks.
