Newegg new website design

Anyone else think that it's absolutely terrible? Now, I know I wasn't the only one that use www.newegg.com/old when the current(as of yesterday) website came up as long as I possibly could, but this new change is a bit ridiculous. I voted on their form about what I thought about the site and I think the only thing I didn't give a 1 was the fact that I'd be coming back to shop there. Although the website looks retarded, I can't buy everything at ZZF. Sometimes you want some customer support on larger purchases since ZZF sucks at that.

www.newegg.com

To be more specific the website basically changed from vertical layout to a horizontal layout. changing the sidebar on the left to be on the top. Instead of being arranged like so | | |, it's =

I hate it. I just flat out dont like it. I dont like changes when it comes to stuff like that. Now I will have to get used to the new format. When I get used to using one thing the same way for a long time it makes it hard to get used to changes. Oh well I guess.

I liked how it was before with the menus to the side and such.. now you ahve to go through so many more steps to find products.

at least with newegg even thought it may take awhile to find what you are looking for at least you can and at the same time look for items that may be better buys that have the same function. It just takes so darn long to narrow it down properly

Did the design change? I thought it was just the front page. I always do this to find what I want.

I want: 500gb SATA Seagate

1. Type it in (Success?)
2. Hardware -> Storage
3. 500gb
4. SATA
5. Seagate

It's not bad for me to go find the product, what pains me is finding the best deal and what is best to buy.

Wonder if our opinions even mean anything to the newegg people. I know a lot of people didn't like the old change and they still kept the new website. If they keep this new design, I will definitely be avoiding the site unless I know exactly what I want. Say good bye to "browsing" when it's impossible to navigate the new site.

wow, I must really suck for paying attention, I don't even see a difference.

I always just use the menu on the left for "Computer hardware" and then choose from the drop down item for example "Motherboards" then narrow my choice by the options on the left.

What changed??

With there new design some of the links are bugged.

<video cards>
Shows accessories, to see video cards you must click "show all" and then there is random order with no current way to organize.

I personally like the old style.

The links are bugged. The open box link didn't work for me. Site is actually eaiser to navigate because it is a more logical layout. But they aren't advertising stuff right on the main page anymore, I would think are losing out there. Overall I dis-like the new homepage, I guess I will just change my bookmark to the "new" daily deals.

Excellent idea!!! Straight to the old page with the daily deals link and you completely skip the retarded home page!!! (http://www.newegg.com/DailyDeal.aspx?Name=DailyDeal)

Question

Am I missing something? The page appears the exact same to me.

Although I do remember another, different from what you described, design that came up when I loaded Newegg a couple days ago.

Exactly!
I never thought I would here people in here complaining about change when the very technology we are buying at Newegg changes at the speed of light!!!!

I really haven't liked Newegg's layout for the last few years, but then I'm an old fart that doesn't like change anyways. But if you want to see how Newegg's website has changed over the years, go to the Wayback Machine on Newegg; it's pretty neat.
