second dvd266u-rn DOA

Dead mobo alright. It took it back to micro-pro, and they confirmed it. So they gave me another new one tonight. And guess what? this one won't power up or spin the fan or even lite an led. 2 bad mobo's in a row? At least the first one got a power on led lite up. What a buch of crap! Thank god I got it from a local dealer and not mail-order!

This is my first experence with Iwill and maybe my last. The documentation sucked and conflicted with power & reset header locations. No where did it show which ddr was #0. A total lack of good useful info!

They say the thrid time is a charm! should I go for it?

You are the first person ever I have heard of such an experience with Iwill. Myself have had 3 Iwill mobos. The first one was a VD133Plus. It was easily installed with all my software, but I had some problem with the compatibility with my Voodoo 3 3500 vid card (not to be blamed to Iwill, VIA chipset were just plain uncoperative with 3dfx). After some tries, I just chandes that one for my BD100Plus mobo. With this motherboard I discovered that the problem was the vid card not the mobo. When I changed my Voodoo 3 to a 3D Prophet II Pro(Geforce II GTS Pro), this motherboard has been soo sweet with me.

Last week I received the DVD266u-RN (don't you love mobo names ). I'm still waiting for my new memory stick but I just connected to the PSU and it beeped.

My catch will be that maybe your retail shop recieved a bad batch (not likely. so far I have heard, Iwill has good quality control) o they just stored them in a bad place.

I would give it another try.

Third time a charm? hell NO!

Finally! after 3 trips to micro-pro. It actually posts wow! I have to hit the power switch 5-10 times to power up. Where the hell is the 1/4 divider in bios? answer there is not a selectable 1/4 divider period. A fresh load of XP produces about 1 bsod per 1 hour of operation. Almost every app I loaded BSODed. Crap for a manual, poor web site, no useful documentation! no 800 number, the long distance tech support number took 2 mins to get a recording saying to leave a message. And the list goes longer than I care to mention right now.
Maybe I'm missing the boat here! my old abit vp6 with sdram kicks ass on this iwll with ddr using the exact same cpu in every sandra benchmark! I expected maybe 5-10% memory increase with ddr, not a 20% loss. So for obivious reasons i'm not a happy camper right now. Someone tell me whats wrong? I was about to order 2 tualatins, 29160 card and scsi160 drive for this mobo now I don't know if i'll even keep this mobo!

iwll dvd266u-rn
1 x 1100e w/cu hsf
2 x 256m crucial 2100 ddr
radeon 32m ddr
wd 40g 7200
yamaha cdrw 2100
enermax 365

mmmmm.....have you downloaded the latest VIA 4 in 1 drivers. The latest revision is XP compatible, maybe that's the problem right now. At Iwill support page there is a new BIOS file. If I remember well fixing something about the suspend mode, might be the reason you are having problems. Don't know.

The surest call will be to grab the latest VIA 4 in 1 drivers, as they are XP compatible.
