Another cheap boring DDR2 link - Ballistix PC2-8500 Tracers for $130, after $75 MIR

OK, I know that everyone is just tired of these "DDR2 hitting rock bottom pricing" type threads, but what the heck...just in case anyone is still interested. :D

Actually, these are top-binned Micron based that guys, such as Gautam, have hit in excess of DDR1200 speeds with very nice timings.

They were on sale earlier for about $140 (courtesy of HousERat), but are now even cheaper, down to $130 after the rebate (yes, it is a large one and expires on 5/18/07). The non-tracers cost $25 more so go figure that out.

In any event, these are really good modules and at $130 are not too far from being in the value ram pricing category.

Here is the link:

Enjoy!

i'm truly ****ed... i wanted these, but the 8000 tracers at buy.com were $120 AR...

for $10 more AND FROM NEWEGG, i woulda taken these...

damn... oh well.

p.s. actually thinking of returning to buy.com cuz they've waved restocking fee for me before... and i personally don't mind large rebates... but i do feel bad doing that to buy.com...

never a crapshoot with me! :) i keep records and i hunt 'em down if i HAVE to (which is rare).

btw, the tracers are just so sexy... that's why i picked up the 8000s at buy.com for $159.99 shipped (minus $40 rebate)... even without the rebate, i nailed a decent deal for $160 shipped.

These are soooo mine. :D

Mwahahahahaha......

Thanks for the linkage.
:attn:

I hate MIR's, but rather do business w/ NE.

Just missing the spoiler is all, but looks don't make it go fast. :burn:

If you do a build with a P5N-E SLI or other 650i mobo, you can get a way with far less. Check out this article:
http://www.legionhardware.com/document.php?id=625&p=2.

Right now, ZZF has Corsair Twin2X2048-5400C4 for $78 shipped with no MIR.

This is not a killer deal, but the RAM is sufficient to attain 3.5GHz stable, with equivalent or better real-world performance than the Ballistix 8500s on a 650i mobo. Here are a couple more links worth reviewing:

I have to admit the Crucial's are sexy though...

I'm with you, man. I've only missed out on 1 or 2 out of about 300+ rebate claims (probably a lot more, actually).

I always include my standard cover letter, with everything required attached to the letter. It serves several purposes...shows them that you mean business and that you are organized. It provides a typed format for all of the personal questions asked (name, mailing address, etc) so that there can be no claim that they couldn't read the rebate form, etc.

I keep copies and follow up (only had to a few times). Rebates are fine as long as you are willing to keep up with them.
