Hello People,

So I have ordered the Corsair Dominator DHX PC2-6400C5 4Gb (2x2GB) DDR2 kit and just found out its 6400 which means fsb 800 right?

I am also getting the Intel QX6800 Quad core which has an fsb of 1066...what do I do?

I could always under-clock the cpu...which is so not nice....do 6400-rate RAM reach fab 1200? I dont see any ram actually rated specifically for 1066 only 6400/fsb800 or OCer RAM like the 8800, etc from corsair, ocz and the like.

Am I missing something?

Can someone tell me if I ordered the wrong RAM...:bang head :bang head :bang head :bang head :bang head :bang head :bang head :bang head :bang head :bang head

EDIT: changed fsb from 1200 to 1066....sry

The ram will be fine. I think the quads have a pretty high multiplier so you can crank the fsb down and the multi up and your ram will run slower. If you run at a 1:1 ratio your ram will do only 600mhz with the stock fsb of your processor.

thanks 4 the fast reply longer...I will be using the swiftech ultra kit to WC the cpu and also sticking the dominator fan thing on the ram.

600mhz...thats like or u actually mean 300 in the bios? 266 is 1066 right because u times it by 4.

So my RAM does 200 standard I need it to do 266....ah man...wait...am I right...or wrong...:-(

well the ram is rated at 80o mhz. So if you are running at a 1:1 ratio on your ram you Fsb will have to be 1600.1066 FSB will limit your ram to running at 533 mhz. In bios it will say like 266 but ddr2 is dual rates so just times that by two.
