No OC with zip drive or CD in CD rom

.Its weird but if i have a CD in my Drive or my Usb zip drive hooked up.I can not OC at all.My DS3 had no trouble with this.What can i do so this wont affect me.Its really a pita.It took me about 1 1/2 hours to figure this out..lol because I didnt realize i had a CD in my master drive.

why do you still have a usb zip drive?
