So you have your cpu at Stock speed.. but gave it more voltage? Whats the point of that? The reason to raise voltage is to increase stability at higher clock speeds.

because windows doesn't load programs properly on startup... but i dont know if its the cpu not getting enough power...

Can you please elaborate on that?

If my startup loadtimes we're slow, my CPU voltage would be the last thing i'd be looking at, especially on stock clock speeds.

I'm running 3.0ghz on stock CPU voltages with 100% stability across all floors.

Can we please have more specs on your system.

O/S, Ram type/timings, HDD's.

Start by going into your "Msconfig" startup and removing programs you don't want running when windows loads.

sometimes, the volume control won't load, the nvidia control panel won't load either when the voltage is set on auto..... and theres no "stock" voltage on the e6600 or so i read.... its like .8- 1.3 V on the specs....

That has nothing to do with vcore voltage, especially a 6600 at stock speeds. My crappy Allendale will do 3.1GHz at 1.225, I don't see how your Conroe would need more voltage to load volume control. Sounds more like your Windows install is broken.

I doubt you need Intel's "recommenced voltages" for anything. You could probably put the voltage to 1.2V and it would still do the same. It sounds like a software issue more than a CPU issue. Have you ran Orthos yet to check stability? If it fails right away (0-60min) theres an issue defiantly especially at stock.

ya reformat, reinstall.. your DDR2 could be set too low as i've found many motherboards set teh ram volts too low.. but definitely the voltage on the cpu is not your problem. You can leave it at 1.3 but it's certainly not needed. I'm running at 3.2Ghz on my E6600 @ 1.275v
