How about $260 for an 8800GTS?

Edit:
Sorry, you aren't in the USA and it didn't register with me.
A 7600GT will be faster than an 8600GT (I think... someone correct me on that).

Look guyz the Calibre 8600GT runs on 630/1620MHz engine/memory clock, cuz it is a special edition. So i am asking u too tell me if it is worth buying.(Yes it is sold only in Europe,Greece for sure)

I am assuming since you've put it in your rig spec you've already bought it if it's using GDDR3 memory and has that speed in core/memory. Then I reckon it'll play todays games pretty well depending on what resolution your using. My rig below isn't really a gaming rig as I have my xbox 360 for that but the 6600GT plays my oldish games very well.

I believe the 8600GT has 16 pipes don't it.

I don't really know if it is GDDR3 but i think so. THX anyways

Well looking at Sparkle's website they only have 2 8600GT/GTS and there both 256mb GDDR3 memory and 128bit. So where you got that 512mb from is either not been posted on there official site yet or it's a rare 1 in production.

Here's there 8600GT/GTS page http://www.sparkle.com.tw/product.asp?id=63 (just say no to the language install pack question site still works)

When i say Calibre i mean Sparkle Calibre! here's the linkhttp://www.calibrestyle.com.tw/main.asp. U should check better next time when u visit a site(don't want to be rude but it's true)

there are 512mb versions of the 8600gt, have yet to see a 512mb 8600gts though but its not like I go looking for these things, sparkle does indead have a 8600gt w/ 512mb of memory.

BTW OP can you look up the price of the 8800 in euros and report back; not many people here, myself obviously included, dont know what cards cost over there so we dont know if this is a great card or not price/performance wise.

its as if someone showed up saying look this thing cost 5 apples and we are like wtf we dont use apples as money we use oranges so we have no clue what 5 apples can get you without seeing what something else costs in apples as well.

For some reason you have a serious attitude problem towards other people! I went to the official site cause thinking it would be there if it's made by Sparkle then it would show up in there product line.

The 8600GT seem good for budget GFX cards, here in the UK you can get a 512mb, GDDR3, 675/2260 core/mem and 320bit bus 8600GTS for £93 which is around $180
I would like to see such a card! When all other cards have 128 bit memory bus, how does an 8600GTS suddenly get a 320 bit bus? This would make it just as fast or faster than a 8800GTS 320MB card at higher res. I have yet to see a 512MB GTS, please give a link.

Also, how does Calibre state their 8600GT has 128 stream processors when 8600's only have 32. The 8800GTS only has 96. Something isn't right.

The Calibre is an awarded series of Sparkle GPUs and the link to the Calibre site is on the official site of Sparkle......

You're right. Something isn't right here. While sparkle calibre may be award winning and what not.... I'm fairly sure they're not swapping out GPU's, adding more memory, and using a different memory bus and then marketing these cards (ones that would outperform the higher end cards) as mid-range cards. With the specs above, these cards would more than likely outperform the 8800GTS series of cards and it sounds like they still cost quite a bit less. 180 euros ($242) isn't that much. Don't the 8800 GTS series cards go for 280+ euros?
