How should be WC rig for this evil MB (http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=9&l2=39&l3=174&model=1271&modelmenu=2) with *two* opterons? And, before anybody claims that it won't overclock, look here: http://forums.2cpu.com/showthread.php?t=80352&highlight=KFN5-D

I mean, this is for real: I'm planning (not sure if the dream will come true, but still believing) such a machine to be OC'ed and WC'ed. How should I design it (from PSU and up to case choice and WC parts)?

Btw, can anyone foresee it having *all* the WC stuff (pump, radiator, etc) inside the case that will receive this demon?

Again, before anybody says that I can get 4 cores easier with Kentsfield... Ops, I've heard a bell in Spain city of Barcellona(s)! :)

So, that's the challenge. Anyone wanna start helping me on it? :)

not o be a smartass... but a normal system with an extra block in parallel. Or if you have the space and moola go with dual cooling systems. The latter for the braggin' rights.

i looked at that board and it only accepts ecc memory which is not as good as ddr2 and it only accepts opteron 2000 series

that mean NO DUAL QUADCORE which is a bummer

com'on...

does you know ANY board manufacturer that will advertise it's boards for a cpu that still don't exist in the market?

bios update, and that's all for barcellonas. which, btw, will still be 2000 series for all matters.

any suggestion, on how should be the loop designed, which pump and radiator to deal with the two processors and chipset (which gets hot), please?

I'd put in two loops, 120.2 style rads (mcr220 maybe), mcp655 or one of its equivalents, and apogee gts or dtek fusions or similar for the cpus. If you did say SLI you can pick up one video card per loop as well, and put the chipset on either or, it shouldnt make a huge difference.

How many rads? and which ones?

I have to admit: the format of rads I DO like are the too rare ones like this: http://www.koolance.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=30_52&products_id=206

SLI is nor an optionfor a long time.

But I'm really worried about the chipset. It's konwn to get hot in this board. People usually puts a strong (and noisy!) fan on it. Should I put its block in one loop, or should I recombine the twoo loops before it and only then pass throw it's block?
