E6420 arrived today

Slowly but surely the new parts are coming in. Today I received my E6420. Here are the specs:
PROD CODE- BX80557E6420SLA4T (Malay)
FPO/BATCH- L703C697
Pack Date- 5/21/07

Can I expect good things? It will be mated with a GA-P35-DS3R and 2gb's of Crucial Ballistix PC6400.

Thanks!

Not watercooling this rig, just using a Zalman 9700 cooler, using stock multiplier of 8 and 1750 (438Mhz) fsb. Ram unlinked so it runs 700Mhgz (as the nForce590 chipset doesn't use dividers like Intel boards). It is fully stable at 3.5, would boot at 4Ghz (8x500) but crashes when loading Windows.

Haven't tried Othos yet and temps are pretty high at 55-70C, but it cannot really be compared to most system here as there is also 13 hds in my fulltower. Plan to get rid of some of those to lower temps, might do a test with most of them turned off to have a closer comparison to other peoples results.

I recently picked up an L709 E6600 and it's doing nicely at 3.6Ghz 1.45v. The new stepping seems to be nice. I also have an L632 then I need to pull out of another computer and test.

That's what I think I have, L632. Like I said, OC'd easily to 3.2. I tried 425 FSB and 1.4ish volts, but no-go. Of course I didn't put the RAM timings to 5-5-5-12 to start or maybe not enough volts. didn't want to test further didn't need anything beyond 3.2 anyway it was just a test.

That's gotta be one HELL of a vdroop considering stock voltage is 1.325V. BTW just saw you are in Marietta heh, I lived up there up to a couple of months ago now in Dekalb. Good to see another fellow Georgian

I thought vStock was 1.35v... and yes my board does seem to drop that much during full load... otherwise it tends to report to run at only 0.01v under what I set in the BIOS. It could just be uGuru acting wierd...

either way thats a huge drop, I think the only real way to measure voltages are right on the mobo though so it may just be a software issue.
