How do I check my q6600 for G0 stepping?

i dont think the G-0 stepping cpu's are out now but you can check cpu-z

and if you dont have cpu-z then you can get it here
http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

the cpu isnt even installed yet lol im looking at it right now. Does it not say on the chip itself? If it does and its not G0 what other versions should I be looking for?

sSPEC...if its SLACR its a G0, SL9UM is B3.

unbelievable even?

yes I think so.

fake? Id be highly suspicious. I dont know how hard it would be to lap a heatsink and print some bogus steppings on it. though 318 for a new Q6600 is still cheap, unless it turns out to be an E6600 or something really shady.

I dunno, I've been reading about waaay too many guys over at extremesystems or whatever who are running these things and putting regular orders in for them for me to doubt (or care anymore) if it is a real G0 Q6600.

yeah , where the barcodes and stuff are ,PRODCODE will be be like bx80562q6600 ( example ) then either slacr or sl9um the sl9 being B3 and Slacr being g0
