multiple connections at once

Is it possible for me to use two or more connections at the same time with a wireless card? There are several in my area and I'd like to just connect to two or three of them when downloading to speed things up.

no

even if you put multiple wireless cards in, you still couldn't do it.

I'm not even going to go into the legality of going on a wi-fi network thats not yours.

There's nothing illegal about public wifi's. I've got wireless in my house that I can get on when the coffee shop next door is acting slow and vice versa. Be nice to use them both when it's night time.

Actually it isnt really. Iv read a story about someone getting put in jail for 3 years for using the wireless outside one of those internet cafe's every day for a few months.

What I do isn't illegal. We know each other. That's what happens when you live that close and go in everyday. He doesn't mind.

What does that have to do with it? If he's making it a public wifi spot he can do whatever he wants with it. Some people have other reasons for needing things as well. Where I work for instance we have a secure line which is slow as sin to replicate all our data on and we have a free wifi signal to all the customers that come in can use. It's two connections of which I have readily access to both on. However I'm constantly having to replicate using Lotus notes so I can't ever get onto the other line. However I don't need to explain myself as I know it's not illegal. I know this. I don't need arguments from others I just needed a solution.

Simply not true. It is not hard to combine several wireless connections.

I load balance one cable modem, one DSL line, and 2 wireless links using embedded linux powered hardware. There are even full free distros such as pfsense that let you do it with a complete noobtastic web GUI.

It cant be done on a user end, generally. Thats not to say multiple internet links cant be aggregated and used as one, but the networking equipment and configuration is not for most.

I'm not one to care about legality especially, but you may be surprised what the courts have decided is and is not legal. People will disagree on legality in these situations because even the courts havent figured out how to interpret the law consistently.

As for reading terms of service of your ISP, the terms are written so that most everyone is in violation. Seriously. They dont care if your in violation though or everyone would be receiving hatemail from their ISP. They care if your abusing the system or affecting their QOS, then they'll use the TOS as a laundry list of violations to come down on you. TOS is just a security blanket, the ISP doesnt care about or enforce it until they see a considerable impact.

EDIT: I see Nicos comment - so you can do something like that, but I would still not expect it to be simple even with the correct hardware. By the way, he may share 4 internet links with linux, but thats nothing... Linux feeds my dog, and pleasures my girlfriend.
