You're forgetting who developed and most likely gets huge royalties from Blu-Ray. That's right. Sony.

Backwards compatable no? I'm assuming yes. If not, ill have to correct that :)
Yes, it will work. Though you should get 7.1 speakers to get the most out of that system. :santa:

WTH!!! Only one vid card? ANY dream machine should be SLI or CF ;)

Unfortunatley, Server board, Even if you had 2 16X PCI-E Slots, one would run at 4X which would suffer a big preformance hit.

Why would you use a server board in a dream machine? That makes no sense unless this would be a dream server and only a server..

Because I don't think anything can compete with Octacore Xeons. Even running at 100% load with every program you ever wanted, you still won't slow down.

Well, then it cant be a gaming dream machine as no matter how fast the Xeon chip is, two 8800's will always be faster than one.

It would make a dream folding machine though..

Guess it depends on your type of dream :)

I don't understand why people just do this.

Its like a 15 year old kid saying ZOMG IM GOING TO RICE OUT MY HONDA WITH TURBO AND RIMZ YO' look at my list!

Hey it's all just good fun to dream isn't it? Ya it's kind of pointless on a logic level but it feeds the spirit. I don't think it's like "ZOMG IM GOING TO RICE OUT MY HONDA WITH TURBO AND RIMZ" at all. He did his research, posted it as a dream machine and is just sparking some conversation IMHO.
