question about USB storage

I plan on getting an 8 MB thumb drive and was wondering if there was a way to instal an OS to it and then boot from it like when i am not at home.

Ummh MB? I hope that was a typo. I think you should be able to, just set the bios to boot from removable storage.
 
Yes you can, but it will be VERY slow. If you are going to do this, there are several linux distros made specifically for this that are very compact to try to minimize the impact of it being so slow.
 
yeah if ur gunna do it do it properly with linux not some bodged windows downloaded from a dodgy russian site. lol

should be fine quite a few people have done it....

you dont really need 8Gb cos some of them are like 50Mb lol....but if yuo want to store stuuf on it then fair enuf.
