this is a noob question im sure but if i buy

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3P LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard

will my AMD processor work on it??

im going to guess no but im not sure

thanks

Yeah, you're trying to mix a intel motherboard with a amd processor... that's a no no. Just go to newegg and filter your search down to your processor.

If by "work" you mean "catch on fire"...

Then yes. Yes it will work.

In all seriousness, when you look on Newegg you'd need to look at what socket your AMD processor uses (probably 939 or AM2 - if it socket A [older socket] you'll be a bit limited in your choices) and find a motherboard that uses AMD processors and the same socket as your chip. I think CPU-Z can tell you what socket-type you're using. At any rate, that program CAN tell you what motherboard you currently have, and we can find out what socket it is that way.

In order to use the board you listed you'd need a socket-775 (aka LGA775) Intel processor.
