Network firewall?

Hello, my friend just informed me of a good business opportunity. He wants to hook up a network for his friend. Basically he wants maximum security. So we were looking at spending about 500-700 For a Firewall box to put on his network. Any ideas? We were thinking of a sonicwall. Though we have no idea about how well sonicwall compares to lets say something like smoothwall.

We are also gonna need switches. ( don't know how many yet)

Any ideas people?

SonicWall makes quality products. We use one as our VPN server at work. As far as recommendations go, you haven't really told us anything. Company size, company type, data being protected, level of Internet traffic used, external access, services provided, remote accessibility, etc.

Nothing worse than dropping a piece of equipment into your network and finding it doesn't do what is needed soon down the road.
