8600 GTS 512 Vs X800XT 256

A guy from work said that his X800XT is much better than the 8600GTS 512. Is he smoking? The only problem I have is that there is No 512 version compaired anywhere on the net that I can find. only the 256 version

512 MB 8600 GTS, was probably made by ASUS

No offense, but ASUS needs to stick to motherboards and chipsets.
Their video cards are crap. I don't doubt that his X800XT is better.

(By the way--ASUS is the only vendor I've seen that manufactures 512MB 8600 GTS')
