WC QX6850 Oc'd Temps - Not bad

The was supposed to be about my new set-up but my DFI LanParty UT P35-T2R arrived DOA and I am currently awaiting it's return from RMA. So... I dropped my new chip in ny trusty P5k deluxe. Water cooling in Sig.

Idle at 3600 8x450 1.42 vcore 35/38/31/32


Idle at 3800 8x475 1.46 vcore 40/43/37/36


prime95 8 hours plus at 3800 8x475 1.46 vcore 55/59/55/57


So far I am happy with these temps as they never hit 60c once, compared to my QX6700 which was only Prime stable at 3500 and ran into the 70's and needed alot more vcore. I am priming now at 3840. Also, we are on our 25th day over 90 degrees here in the Dirty Dirty South so with some more reasonable ambient temps I expect temps to be even a little lower. More to come

Tell me about. I got my mcw60 and my MX2 thermal paste so I am putting my GTX underwater with it own loop this weekend. Then its time to attack HWBot and team Poland.


Here is 3920 idle temps @1.48 volts , It's TitanQuest stable but one core fails after 1 hour 33 mins of prime. The mother board is starting to heat up this is why people are buy the Premium over the P5k deluxe

Everest ultmate edtion it's the only Temp monitoring software I could get to run on Vista 64 bit. The cool thing is I can ouptut to my matrix orbital lcd so I can check my temps while benching.
 
Powerhouse CPU, I'll bet you could Prime @ 4GHz with more vcore. My Q6600 runs 3DMark06 @ 4077 (1.6V) with a D-Tek Fuzion so you should be able to get past that. Plug all the cards you have into this monster and take over HWBot! :D
 
Made a few tweaks prime95 overnight(7+ hours) @3840mhz and only 1.46 vcore.

58/58/60/62


just for kicks 3dmark06 at 4100mhz 1.55 vcore

That score is very low, though he's only showing that he can bench 06 @ 4.1GHz, nothing more.

On his old QX6700 & same card he pulls in 13809 @ 3703MHz, so his new chip will do much better.

My Ultra does 15107 @ 4610MHz, my cpu score is 4126, with out even trying mgoode has 5774 @ 4100MHz.

I really think I want one.

Thanks Deanzo, you are right that run was completly stock on the GPU. I am breaking it down tonight to add a loop for the gpu. I used 06 because the cpu test will fail pretty quick at high clock speeds. My qx6700 never made it made it thru an 3dm06 run at anything higher than 3720mhz. this one still has more in her I am sure.;)
 
Ah, I didnt catch the 3dM'06 was @ stock.

Hey dont get me wrong... seriously... that OC is a beast and the more I read about the QX6850s the more I wish I had got one. (Until I see the pricetag at least) They are amazing chips and I am just holding out assuming this is the tip of the iceberg for whats coming out with the Penryns.
