Rob Zombie's Halloween

1 week from today, the last movie of the year I'm excited about. I'm going to go see it right after work. Is anybody else planning on seeing it? I'm hoping it will be better than the first one seeing as how the scare factor of the 70s is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY below what it is these days. I also never really like John Carpenter, Halloween was his swan song, one hit wonder if you will. I know other people liked his other works, but I didn't. Zombie knows his horror, but I'm on the fence as I liked House of 1000 corpses but thought that Devil's Rejects was garbage. Expect a full review in the movie thread!

I can just hear the familiar music now and the white Shattner mask known as "the shape"

I cant wait until Friday night. Rob was on O&A the other week and it just hipped me up more, I already have the poster framed. I Believe Rob will do it right and it will be a good show. I do Like the original and i think he has one hell of a job to do here. If i had to pick someone to redo the move it would be Him.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it will be good. Rob is an amazing artist. I'm pretty sure zombie won't screw up halloween. I mean he already has the good scary concept to work with, and he knows his horror films. So I'm thinking this will be the best halloween movie so far...

I hated all his movies. You can tell by his direction he would love to actually be a deranged serial killer because of the obvious in your face glorification of his scum of the earth characters. It wasn't so prevalent in House, but it was shoved down your throat and out your tooter in Devils Rejects.

Great, he did (bad) heavy metal with a "horror" theme. Doesn't make him a good director or writer, especially if he keeps casting his ugly crack head wife in all the movies he does.

He thinks he can do Halloween better? What's next, Nightmare on Elm St.? I have nothing against splatter films, but damn, his stuff makes my stomach churn, and not because of gore. He, and a crap load of other no talent logs should never put their hands on old films like that. If I see one of them re-do the re-done The Thing, or worse yet, try their own version of Jacob's Ladder, I'll go nuts.

He was quoted in this months Spin magazine as to wanting to be remembered more as a film maker than a shock rocker, that statement kind of took me by surprise. But i never much like his music anyways.

His music is ok, I prefer White Zombie over a lot of his Rob Zombie material personally. I saw house of 1000 corpses and thought it was pretty good.

The White/Rob Zombie music all sounds sort of the same. The only Horror-Rock band worth anything is the one and Only, the Misfits.

Yeah...and Marylin Manson is a Satan worshiper.
And Ozzy IS the Anti-Christ.

Sooo...i guess that means...

Anyone who likes/makes horror movies is a serial killer wanna-be.

J.K.Rowling believes magic is real, and that you can fly around on a broom-stick.

And most gamers think Random Encounters are real too.

Whooo, lets not have me touch on Doom, Stephen King, the autor of the children's books "Goose Bumbs", or even Stan Lee himself. Cause obviously, if you like any of those, or are the creator of those...you are psychotic and need locked away in a padded room.

Nope.

I love horror movies. I didn't like his idiotic films. It's one thing to have a murderer running around doing what ever, or a monster, and to have your heroes lose/win. It's another to be constantly accosted by silly "sentimental" scenes with an insane bunch of murdering sleazeballs. Oh I certainly loved his "last charge against the good guys" scene. You have to be blind not to see his stance on that. Even the guy I watched it with, one of the most subjective open minded guys I know, thought it was blatantly obvious. It's not like in other flicks where the VIEWER may want the bad guy/woman/thing to win, this is a case of the writer/director wanting them to win, but making it a point to show how the world is just so against you. Every writer puts something of himself and his values in his work. Thats how every artist is. Even if he really isn't glorifying "evil", his work still sucks ass.

so, it's been leaked to bittorrent 4 days BEFORE it is officially released in theaters. I just want to encourage you guys to go see it at the theater or at least rent it to DVD. Remember, the more people who get it for free, the less movies are going to get made and we'll either end up with only mega-budget movies or direct-to-video crap.

movies will never stop being made, but people should still support the things they enjoy.
