question


I just bought a quad brand new g0 stepping and 2 of the cores wont pass a prime 95 torture test small fft's at stock speeds do I have a legit reason to RMA?

gigbyte p35 board corsair 8500c5 which is supported by board v core 1.3 which is by everset ultimate edition everything is set up pretty much stock. cores three and four fail almost right off the bat.

it runs plays games no prob but wont run prime. I'm just wondering cuz i havent overclocked anything yet.

try downloading cpuz (download) and can you post a screenshot showing the main screen and the ram settings screen?

Also download coretemp 0.95 (download)

and find out what your temperatures are while you are running small FFT prime before it crashes preferably. If it fails too quickly with small FFT then try running blend and report temps.

I agree it should not be crashing at stock voltage but it could be something you are overlooking.

Ambient temps, Core temps (idle and load), what cooling are you using, is everything in bios set to default?
