Been looking for a new card for my system(htpc) and been reading alot of stuff about dx10 and games. Let me get this right or correct me if I'm wrong: DX10 only works for games if you're running Windows Vista.. I'm running MCE in my system and don't plan of moving to Vista(not in the forseeable future anyway), so I shouldn't bother with a dx10 card-correct??? Unless Microsoft decideds to release a dx10 patch for windows xp....

well dx10 card still perform better than the last gen cards, most of them anyways.

as said, dx10 cards arent "only" for dx10, they run dx9 also, so you might as well buy a dx10 based card (8* series nvidia and 2* series ati)

1950>8600>2600

In gaming.

What games? Go check some benchamarks.
