Vista Problems & Solutions not working (this 2nd time)

Start,
All Programs,
Maintenance,
Problem Report and Solutions

I have a few question marks in device manager due to hardware, and I have maybe 5 issues which explains a solution. But if I follow the help it gives, I think I am getting the run-around, going in circles. I used to have a new! text and had the ability to click and start the download, but the new! is gone, and when I directly click it now won't start again. The first time of this second install when I directly clicked it started a download, but because it stalled I cancelled it. Because it was the first time I think it was when the new! went away. I have followed the instructions and alowed hidden and everything, but the same problems and solutions won't go away, and I can't make it start. The 3am settings that it defaulted to I haven't changed, and last night was the first time it went past 3am, but both the computer and I were shut down at that time. It has been on for a couple hours now, the 2nd day, but the problems are still there. The first time I clicked it knew what to do, and started to download the drivers and fix whatever.

How do I get it to do anything again to fix it?

btw, this is the second time in a few days that I have installed this os on this computer entirely and the first time it was just on a single ATA100 HDD, this time was on 2 Raptors in RAID0, the only change. Neither time did I auto register on connect, and have not specifically done that yet. I did enter the Serial number for this Vista Home Premium full retail product. The first time I installed I think it did fix all these things that it hasn't this time. It says contact Lexmark for support, for instance. Is it because its a third party problem, and I have a limited number of free automatic redirections? I just can't get it to do anything manually, and setting shaven't helped, so far. I would much rather persist in doing it this way, cuz i know it can fix it this way, if it wants, rather than go to each website by myself, and take a chance with a huge handfull of drivers and apps, and hope it works.

Why won't it work?

I haven't learned how to make all the settings yet, but would changing daily checks during hours the computer be on (like now) allow everything to work

btw, if the pc is never on at 3am, its current update check time, will it ever work? Irregardless I don't want it doing it when I first turn it on the next day.
