ATI 7.9

hi, i have a ATI radeon x1600 pro trying to upgrade driver had 7.7 went to 7.8 didnt like 7.8 so went to 7.7 all drivers worked, but when i install 7.9 it goes threw the motions after all done asks me to reboot, reboot screen goes black restart pc finally get to desktop get error no ati driver installed tryed about four times now cant get 7.9 to work running 7.7 now runs fine.

Are you uninstalling the drivers first?

yes uninstalled privous driver

Sorry, I don't know what the problem might be, but it sounds like you still have residual drivers leftover. Try one of the driver cleaner programs. I just updated my 2900XT system to the Cat 7.9 and had no problems.
