I have been waiting for ppl to start posting some real hard numbers ? where are they at ppl im sure some on you have one by now

Its hard to when availability is low and they only use slow *** ram. I doubt we will see some nice numbers until we see a non-server cpu come out.

Paper launch.

*edit* The searches "buy AMD K10" and "buy AMD Barcelona" combined yield zero results.

I want to see a real overclockers results. AMD has just said that they expect to raise clocks to 2.3ghz by the end of the year. If they can actually SHIP any parts by the end of October, I'll be relieved. If OC'ers can get 3ghz consistently by the end of the year I will be sceptically optimistic. But oh wait, overclockers won't even have a real chance until the new year. Doh.

They are listed at NCIX, but at the moment it looks like they are only pre-orders. Of course, they only have 7 different flavors in stock anyways so who knows. :p

I remember the days when I knew a new Intel proc is coming out because it was on the shelves in akiba. I checking everyday and still nothing, not that I would buy a new mobo for this beta cpu, but at least those will be of a newer stepping.

And what starts? We are a full week into the 'launch'. I can't find a single one for sale.

And out supplier at work has them in stock too. Just like any other launch, they are sparse but out there. Hell, if Canada has them, everyone else has them.

I've seen people with them at XS, and there aren't really conclusive tests yet because the motherboards and their bioses are shady. Certainly there are no overclocking numbers, and the performance numbers are incomplete because the memory is forced to run at 667 speeds with very loose timings.

You can see it yourself if you care to wade through all the bs:

The only thing I know for certain is that K10 won't come close to matching C2D in SuperPi. But then again....who cares about SuperPi? There aren't any game benchies because their motherboards don't support PCIE graphics.

There was a demo system in Akiba, but it was running a VM:

2 barebone servers and a Windsor 4x4 processor (tiger direct link) are what those links showed me.

I just can't remember if processors are included in the barebones kits. :/

Like Idiot said, do those barebones servers have actual cpus in them? Or are they just 'Barcelona Ready' servers? (they seem pretty cheap to actually have cpus in them) Though if the only way you can get one is to buy a whole brand new server, it kind of defeats the purpose of their 'plug and play' marketing angle.

Also, I don't know why the 4x4 is in the list, but OK! :)

Really, I know that Phenom is the real deal. Its just for the last couple of months or so, everyone said that Sept 10th was the day. It was the day the NDA lifted, and we were all supposed to see results. We haven't seen anything yet. If AMD could demo some 3ghz units a month ago, why can't they send one equipped with tri-fire to Anand or similar for review?
