Network problem in FreeBSD

I have a server setup running FreeBSD, I believe either 6.1 or 6.2. I have it running dnscache, squid, and Samba, with all of my music on it; as such, it would be very nice to have it working.

Over the weekend, everything was working just fine. Then I started to get "Page cannot be found" type errors, and my music quits working. I couldn't think of anything wrong that night, and just put it off till Sunday. It still has the same problem, and I can't ssh into the server, nor is my router seeing it. I get my internet working again by changing everything back to dhcp so that it all just goes through the router, but obviously I still can't listen to my music or anything.

I checked the server earlier, and everything seemed fine with it; however, I was unable to ping my other computers from it. I tried a restart and it couldn't acquire a network address. I swapped the ethernet cable, same problem. I also notice that I'm getting an "nve0: device timeout (1)" error on the console. I swap out the network card to an old Etherlink XL (something like that) one, and it still won't connect.

I have no idea what might be going on, and the server doesn't have a cd drive, so I can't just try a live cd. I do have a copy of Wolvix on a flash drive that I'll try later on. All my other computers are working fine. If anyone has any ideas what might be going on, let me know...

Thanks in advance, and sorry about the length.

Weird...
I booted up with Wolvix, and it connected just fine using the Fast Etherlink XL card. I then shut down, switched back to the onboard, and went into FreeBSD. It worked perfectly fine...

So I guess it's fixed, though I have no idea what happened.
