Ink Cartridge Refills?

I keep hearing about these, and my HP 98 ink tanks are FREAKING TINY. I use B&W alot, and these little suckers are expensive.

Does this stuff actually work, and can anyone recommend a site to buy a kit from?

I've had it done, and I've not been impressed with the results, I'd try to get aftermarket inks.

If you only printer B&W, consider a laserjet. I picked up a HP LaserJet 1020 for $85, and it's supposed to print around 2,000 sheets per toner cartridge.

Laserjets cost you less in the longrun.

Inkjets are cheap because all the money is made off the ink. HP is getting worse at it. Their newer printers all have bloated drivers/software that is forced upon you and take forever even on modern systems. And they have a higher failure rate.

At my company we use the older workhorse HPs and they last longer all around longer. We've tried 3rd party inks and seem to have more issues with them, so we stick to the official HP brand.

I tried the refills on my Lexmark X1150. Dam cartridge only lasted 1/2 of what the new ones do A waste imho.

I need new cartridges now both color & b&w

we had a refill kit and usually you are able to refill them about 3 times before the cartridge starts getting bad results.

worked great for us, maybe it differs between makes and models. ours is a lexmark.

Seconded. If you're printing b&w, there is no reason to not to go laser. tonerkits.com has full refill kits (3000+ pages) for less than $10, depending on model.

I never had any luck with refills. I too suggest going LaserJet. I too never used color at home and my carts were always drying out on me, so I got a Samsung ML2010 and even with the starter toner cart have printed out well over a thousand pages. The printer cost me $100 almost 2 years ago, I've seen them for $50 with rebates. It is an awesome printer for home.
