No... only two 7900GTs or 2 7900GS's can be ran in SLI, no mixing. Most of the time they both need to be identical cards as well.

nVidia has said they don't need to be identical cards anymore.

The GS cannot be flashed to a GT, but what about flashing a GT to a GS?

mk lets straighten this up. it is my understanding that

1 the cards have to be of the same model IE 7900gt
2 the cards do not need the same amount of ram
3 the cards do not need the same clocks
4 the cards can be from different companies

BUT the cards HAVE to be the same model

If you have both cards right now i would try it, maybe you could like stated get a bios of a 7900gs from that manufacture, and flash the 7900gt, but if you havnt bought the second card i would just make you life easier and buy the same card that you have, OR wait just a little bit and grab a 8800gt or the original 8800gts 640 w/ 96sp's as they are going to be comming out with a new gts 640 with 112sp's

You sir are correct.

You can install both the cards but they wont run in SLI. This would allow you to run multiple monitors.

As stated its required to have two of the same model. 2X7900GTs or 2X7900GSs,not a mix of the two.
