i was just wondering if anyone uses the atitool benchmark? if so is it reliable?

i only ask as ive never heard or seen anyone talking about it and as my gaming pc doesnt have internet access i cant use 3dmark or the like!

i got a figure of 14,432 for my x1950pro 256mb whilst 2nd in the list was a x1900xtx512 that only managed 8,200 !

being a noob ive no idea how good the 1900xtx is rated but it seemed a bit disproportionate to my card being nearly twice as good apparently. but i dont really know what to think of it so i thought i'd ask!

I think the ati tools bench is okay, but it is not my standard benchmark. I would use something less synthetic like a game timedemo bench. Do you have any games that can run a bench demo?

yeah COH and WiC!

the first bench i did in COH was max= 189, min=cant remember (sorry!) and ave= 59 leaivng it to automatic setting @ 1024/768 (i think)

this was when 1st i bought it ages ago though and i'm sure my card is getting worse...!

i could play fear maxed out on 1680/1050 and graw maxed at 1280/960

WiC is worse though @ 39 ave on auto settings! (medium) and a low of 19 on the nuke explosion!

i cant get the new drivers to install though so i might have dicked my card ocing!
