Need a bit of help here.

I know a bit about computers. I've built a few for myself, but when it comes to choosing hardware, I'm lost. So I'm asking you all for help on what to get. I was hoping for a barebones, but if theres not one for what I need, I'll just get parts for one. I'm looking for a quad core with about 4gb+ of RAM and a lot of hdd space. I need a good gfx card and sound card as well. Could some of you help me find some parts on NewEgg that you think are good. Thanks for the help.

What are you looking to spend?

What do you want this computer to be able to do (game, file server etc etc)

I didn't want to spend more than $1800-2000 if possible.

See my above post, I made an edit.

What do you want this computer to be capable of? Are you going to be gaming, video editing?

I'm hoping for a file server/game server as well as a normal workstation.

Ok, I'd say:

Q6600
Abit IP35
4gb of ram (you could do 2 sets of 1gb pairs)
1900xt or equivalent graphics card (or even less)
As many 500-750gb drives as you can afford
Cooler Master CM690 case

You can go cheaper then the CM690. Depending on how much money you need for other items you can go with a chemning 602 or something like that (I love those cases). I assume you will probably want a raid for your hard drives.. Perhaps a raid 5 for storage.. or raid 0 for fast access... Or even both! , and you will need a rather decent power supply. A corsair 620 should power all that for you and more.

CM 690 is $45 AR @ ZZF which is a darn good price.

Rebate ends 10/15 so get it soon if interested.
