I'm a newbie to overclocking and I have a AthlonXP [email protected]( 10.5 x 152MHz). I booted up Win2k and ran some benchmarks fine. But when I restarted, I got a message saying that I have corrupted files and to run CHKDSK. What should I do first? Should I lower back down to stock specs and do a recovery setup(if possible w/o losing data) OR do I have to reinstall win2k from scratch. Should I make adjustments to voltages? Any Ideas? Please let me know.

Should I adjust multiplier settings by doing 12.0 x 133 = 1.6GHz?!?!?

Thanks!

Previous Setup:
Abit KR7A
AthlonXP [email protected] (10.5 x 145) 1.75v
Alpha PAL8045 w/Delta 68cfm
VisionTek Geforce3 Ti-200
Crucial 256 MB PC2100 DDR
20GB WD HD
Antec SX1040B 400w PS
Win2k Pro

Raise the memory voltage to 2.7v if you have not already.
At 152mhz its a good idea.
Don't know about win 2k.

I'm having problem trying to unlock my Athlon XP 1600+. I superglued the gaps and used conductive silver epoxy(from CrazyPC) to connect the bridges in L1. When I booted up, the CPU either shows up as a Athlon 1200MHz or AthlonXP 1444MHz(if i remember correctly). I got this on my first try so I did it again from scratch. I got the same thing. Could you help me out? Do you think is the silver epoxy(not being too conductive) or what am I doing wrong? Any tips! Thanks!
