I wonder how long its gonna take for a p2p program to develop a way around this.

Another reason I will never use ComCast.

I help distribute linux distros so you can download them faster than from the people who make them. Relieving stress off of their servers.

I have no other option than Comcast at the moment. I dont use any sharing programs so not such a big issue for me..

What does concern me is MMO's are starting to use bittorent type clients to patch games. WOW's patch software is like that. If a big patch came out and I couldnt get it cause Comcast blocked it then I would be insanely ****ed.

Good news is FIOS should be available sometime next year..

man you guys are waaaaaaaaaay behind...

this has been happening and was first talked about a few months ago.

They are not blocking all P2P traffic, in fact they are only blocking Seeding traffic and not in all areas either, really only in high traffic areas.

Another thing is you can still connect without a problem of throttling or firewalling ISP by using SSH tunneling.

Hrm, so the carriers are busily violating telecom laws by filtering traffic.

(Note: All traffic must be processed in the order in which it arrives, excepting government traffic, which must be given the highest priority.)

I think only Comcast has been doing this. Have not heard of others doing it.

There are certain Net Neutrality regulations they have to abide by. Not sure if their filtering of P2P apps breaks that or not.
