anyone running a dual core cpu with windows 2000?

I installed 2000 pro on my new rig earlier and don't think I saw 2 cpu's on the system window... Anyone else running 2000 with a dual core and tell me if it utilizes both cores?

Did you install the dual core fix/drivers? Maybe this will help?

I will have to check again once I get home and see if it has both cores on there. I just wasn't sure if I saw them or not and remembered seeing something about that

I had it running on my sig rig before going to XP64, and it saw both cores just fine.

I have found it to be a bit flaky about recognizing such things in the past though, when I installed it on dual processor machines. If it can't find both cores, go to Device Manager and change the computer type to ACPI multiprocessor PC, should fix the issue on reboot.

Usually that is the case. Often a heatsink and fan will obstruct view of the CPU(s).

I haven't been able to get Win2k installed on a Core 2 Duo setup with both cores enabled. Runs and installs perfectly fine in single core mode. Intel DQ965 motherboard. It just hangs after it loads the drivers and gets ready to start Windows 2000 setup, before the license agreement screen.
Pentium D's run and install no problem.
