How can you get around driver problems during windows boot up?

I was just wondering if there was a way to circumvent the problems that windows might encounter trying to use a corrupt driver, one that keeps it from booting up(besides safe mode).

You have a quite a few options, three of which are (assuming you're referring to XP)... performing a System Restore from the "Safe Mode with Command Prompt" option in the Advanced Options menu (in order to access the menu, press the F8 key just before Windows begins to load / directly after POST). You'll need to log on as the administrator, or a user that has administrative rights. At the command prompt, type...

%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe ...and then press ENTER.

...then just follow the instructions on the screen. If you're unable to perform a System Restore for whatever reason, you could try performing a repair install of XP...

And thirdly booting to the Last Known Good Configuration (also available from the Advanced Options menu).
