What's a good sound card for htpc and gaming??? Looking at 7.1...

Hands down, Auzentech X-Fi Prelude. Especially if you plan on using the analog audio outputs to a good amp and speaker setup. It does of course support the latest EAX (5.0).

Next best would be the original X-Fi lineup from Creative, NOT the newest OEM half height PCI cards though. Again, this would be with the analog audio outputs.

Has front audio input so I can hook up headphones to my audio jacks on my pc.
